Information
Meetings
These are held on the third Sunday of each month from September to June at 2.00pm. Guest speakers are invited to visit and give illustrated talks on all aspects of orchid growing. Often the speakers are specialist amateur growers who pass on some of their expertise. Sometimes the speakers are from nurseries and they bring plants for sale. At other times, the speakers may be concerned with orchids in the wild. One of the highlights of the year is the plant auction held at the December meeting when members can dispose of surplus plants, and of course buy new plants to replace them.
The Display Tables are an important part of these meetings. Members are encouraged to bring any flowering plants they have for others to appreciate. EMOS has a number of qualified BOC judges who will give constructive criticism of the plants displayed.
